Who I am
Hi, I’m Tami Campbell, and my journey into family history began with a fourth-grade school project—a simple assignment to create a family tree. What started as poster board and handwritten names quickly became something much more meaningful. My mother and I spent an entire weekend on the floor laying out that tree together, carefully placing each name so we could see all who came before us. I still have that original poster, now filled with additions and notes made over the years. Even today, I look at it often and remember how it felt to sit there listening as my mom explained who everyone was, where they came from, and where their stories led. That early experience—seeing family history take shape in front of me—sparked a lifelong passion for understanding, preserving, and honoring the connections that bind generations together. My wish is for anyone that wants it…to know the ancestors that came before them.
With over 30 years of hands-on experience in family history research, I bring a deep, thoughtful approach to genealogy that goes far beyond simply building trees. I have researched dozens of families across multiple regions and time periods and have developed a carefully documented family tree of more than 5,000 individuals. My work blends traditional records research with genetic genealogy, using DNA analysis to solve complex problems, identify ancestral connections, and navigate discoveries such as non-parental events with care and sensitivity. In addition to research, I have combined my lifelong love of genealogy with ancestral travel—helping clients not only discover their roots, but experience them firsthand through meaningful heritage journeys. Whether uncovering forgotten stories, confirming lineage through DNA, or walking the landscapes of an ancestor’s life, my goal is to create connections that are accurate, ethical, and deeply personal.
I do this work because family history is more than names and dates—it is about identity, belonging, and understanding how the past shapes who we are today. Every record holds a story, and every discovery has the power to reconnect families, restore forgotten lives, and bring clarity where questions have lingered for generations. I believe genealogy should be done thoughtfully, ethically, and with respect for both the living and the dead. Whether I am untangling a complex research problem, guiding someone through a DNA discovery, or helping a client stand in the place their ancestors once lived, my goal is always the same: to create meaningful connections that honor the truth and give families a deeper sense of where they come from.
